LOST Souls.
I’ve observed character flaws in some of the main characters on LOST:
- Kate cannot stop running;
- Sawyer has a death wish;
- Charlie is an addict (obviously);
- Locke’s has an what seems to be an inferiority complex (pride causing him to overcompensate);
- Jack doesn’t know when to quit;
- Hurley believes he’s bad luck.
Which one of these characters do you identify with?
I identify with John Locke, the man of faith.
“I get the impression Locke really is a nice guy who has simply found himself underappreciated and misunderstood. Now, during his one time to shine, he wants to be treated like an equal and that isn’t always the case. He’s living up to an ideal that his own mind has created and when he falls short, either in how he views himself or how others view him, he gets angry and even violent.” ~Chris Carabott, IGN (http://tv.ign.com/articles/102/1023685p1.html)
Man, can I relate to that. Is there a pill you take for that?
This business about the ideal he’s created in his own mind immediately brought me back to this article I read earlier in the month on self-hatred (as pride).
Peel back the layers…
