A Friend, Received.
Friend,
Who can argue the God-like precision through which circumstance after circumstance chained themselves together to converge two disparate paths so succinctly? I am witness to a power greater than myself through my knowing of you. Our pact of friendship is genius and a point to celebrate. I feel at peace. Yes I do.
I reject dishonesty regarding my circumstances, or my needs, or plans, or wants, or dreams. And of my proclivities and vices. I am selfish – this is true – and I accept that. Then again, I accept the same about you. Deception is futile, the killer of fidelity and intimacy. So what is there to hide? The truth? I don’t fear the truth; I crave it. Transparency. Authenticity. Being.
They say to let go of your limitations. However, often times that’s akin to asking a person to release the rope which suspends them above that endless obsidian abyss some of us have had the fortune/misfortune of having downed ourselves into at one time or another. So I’ll dangle for now thank you very much, as I suspect you will as well. There’s climbing to be done after all. In the meantime I accept your gesture toward a compassionate ear, a friend with minimal to no judgment and a truth told between two people. Truly once it is achieved there is no higher love I know of.
I feel auspicious and optimistic about my future again for the first time in days. A relief, a relief, a relief is what this is to me.
Hands bound by circumstance of mind, faith and material, I bow to the sweetness afforded to me and thank gratefully the powers that be for delivering it to me. No one wants to be your friend more than I. No one deserves it more than I. No one is better suited for the job. And the limits of my character aside, I accept you as you are. Excitement and possibility spring forth.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re here. And shit, it’s good to see you again.
Next chapter please…
